| While
moose hunting during the fall of 2003 my hunters observed more than 60 moose
on their 6 day moose hunt. They were all tagged out by the third
day!
Please
book early to avoid disappointment!
We
hunt our northern moose in wildlife management units 526 and
359. You'll find rivers, streams and a number of clear cuts in
this area.
I only
take two hunters per year in each of these wildlife management units.
The best time to hunt bull moose is in the first part of the moose
season around the 25th of August. We primarily hunt from tree stands
near watering holes. The last few years Alberta has experienced
drought conditions which has made watering holes a very good place
to hunt moose. The large bull moose which is pictured here, was
taken this way. And this is one of the largest moose we've taken
by bow. Most moose taken by bow are in the 30" to 40"
range.

The
hunters will hunt from the tree stand during the early morning and
evenings. We also drive hunting areas for bulls to stalk. To get
into the watering holes we use the ol' Willie's Jeep. I believe
these areas are without a doubt your best bet with the bow. Shots
range from 8 to 30 yds. Our success rate is 90% to 100%, over the
last four years.
If
you are looking for a hunt with a great chance at a bull moose and
a freezer full of the best meat the North has to offer, give us
a try. Thank you.
